General Information
Codelaude understands and recognizes the importance of data, and in particular personal data, in world's day-to-day activities and how impactful and damaging it can be if something goes wrong. Having that said, this Privacy Policy document exists to explain, in detail, how we handle your data and for which purposes.
In case we need to process any type of data (e.g. company data, personal data, etc.), we will always do it according to any applicable law and in accordance to your Privacy Policy. We are committed to a transparent approach and simple communication so that you can feel comfortable at all steps.
As GDPR is considered one of the most advanced Data Protection Regulations there is, we are committed to do our best to put it in practice, knowing beforehand that those regulations apply only to cases which are subject of GDPR.
As a general policy, we reserve the right of updating this policy anytime it proves to be relevant and without prior notice, knowing beforehand that, for your comfort, the update date will be explicitly displayed on the page.

1. Definitions
- "we/us" - refers to the company Codelaude, Lda. with the information depicted in its General Information section.
- "you" - refers to the website visiting entity to whom this Privacy Policy applies, and might be a company, partner, customer, visitor, job applicant, supplier, service provider, etc. All absent cases need to be analysed carefully and contextualized according to the surrounding elements.
2. Applicable Entities
This policy applies to the visiting entities of this website, identified in this document (point #1) by "you". In addition to this, Codelaude collaborators need to also follow the internal policies.
3. Responsibility
We are responsible for the data processing of any data shared with us via email or via our analytics tools used in this website. In case you have concerns regarding your personal data, want to clarify the process or erase the same from our systems, please contact us via support@codelaude.io. The same is applicable if your data needs any correction or want it blocked. We will do our best to address your request as soon as possible. For the definition of data processing, please understand that according to GDPR rules, this is applicable only to personal data. Clients and service providers are also covered by an additional policy linked to the contracts.
4. Children's Privacy Protection
Even though one of our goals is to be as inclusive as possible, this website is not intended for children aged 16 or under. We do not knowingly collect or request any information from anyone aged 16 or under. If you have concerns regarding your child's privacy in relation to our services or that inadvertently we collected personal information from a child aged 16 or under please contact us at support@codelaude.io. We will do our best to address your request as soon as possible in order to delete such information from our records.
5. Data Collection
The amount of data collection is directly related with the exchange that you have with us, meaning that it might be none or might be bounded within the limits defined by the list below. We solely use this data for business use and/or pattern analysis related to the usage of this website. By no means we do collect data for any purpose other than those mentioned. Please note that other than the explicit way of collecting data (i.e. email communication) with your consent, you can always opt by not sharing any data with us. This can be done using the identified mechanisms to do so.
5.1. Prospects and Customers
In order to properly handle our prospects and customers, we might need to handle data that allows us to work in a better and more effective way. This data (e.g. first name, last name, corporate email, company info., etc.), that can be shared with us upon request or with your explicit consent (emailing us), will be used to establish and maintain business relationships. Even though that according to GDPR this doesn't represent personal data, we remain open to hear your queries about the same. Please note that for this type of data collection, additional policies will be enforced (usually via contracts or agreements) in order to protect all involved parties. We retain the right of using this information to run background checks (e.g. verification of sanctions lists, legal processes, complaints, etc.) that allow us to run our business in the most correct and transparent way.
5.2. Job Applicants & Internships
In order to apply to a position at Codelaude, and due to the nature of recruiting processes, you need to explicitly and in a consentful manner (via email, form submission, telephone, etc.), share some of your personal data with us in order to move with the process. This data (e.g. first name, last name, email, your Curriculum Vitae and all the info it brings attached, etc.) is limited to the strictly required information and is meant to aid us during the selection process, knowing beforehand that we won't ask for sensitive information (e.g. data related to your race or ethnic, religion, physical or mental health or sexual orientation) nor we will allow the sharing of the same with us. If this is the case, then the application will be immediately rejected, deleted and a new one has to be submitted. We will not collect any data from you without your explicit and informed consent.
5.3. Suppliers, Service Providers and others
These entities are a very important part of our business and as such special attention is required when it comes to handle this type of data. This data (e.g. first name, last name, corporate email, company info., etc.), that can be shared with us upon request or with your explicit consent (emailing us), will be used to establish and maintain business relationships. Even though that according to GDPR this doesn't represent personal data, we remain open to hear your queries about the same. If it's not possible, due to the nature of the provider/supplier to share company data with us (which is our preferred way), any personal data will abide to the policies defined by 5.2. Job Applicants & Internships section. Please note that for this type of data collection, additional policies will be enforced (usually via contracts or agreements) in order to protect all involved parties. We retain the right of using this information to run background checks (e.g. verification of sanctions lists, legal processes, complaints, etc.) that allow us to run our business in the most correct and transparent way.
5.4. Participants
The definition of participants is directly related with the interaction between Codelaude and other institutions/events in the most diverse ways (e.g. tech. events, conferences, job fairs, talks, etc.). During these events we might request some data, that might be personal or not, to establish and maintain business relationships or to start recruitment processes. For both situations, their governance is detailed by their entries above (5.1. Prospects and Customers and 5.2. Job Applicants & Internships).
5.5. Social Media and similar
We believe that social media should be used for the good and in a responsible manner, as such not only we do enforce a proper usage and business framing of the same, but also respect each person individuality and freedom by posting only business related content. In case we want to advertise our company, our products/achievements or events, and it implies collecting your image or data, we will always ask for explicit consent for collecting and posting it. In case of a negative answer, no action will be taken. Please make sure that you visit each social media provider privacy policy pages to make sure that you agree with it.
5.6. Server Logging
This website is supported by a set of tools and technologies that automatically record and maintain usage logs. These logs are useful for security purposes, corrective and evolutive maintenance of the website, behaviour analysis, legal disputes, crime prevention and optimization of the website. This data (e.g. your browser, operating system, IP address, your approximate location, origin website - where you came from before landing here, date and duration of the visit and language) is solely used for the purposes previously mentioned and is maintained and managed according to the highest security standards.
6. Data Sharing
We do not, at any time, share, sell or provide any data to third parties (being the only exception, and always with a previous request, interactions with social media providers - e.g. a post). Legally we might be inquired, by legislative or judicial authorities, to provide this data to aid in legal or regulatory procedures, in this case we will hand it over.
7. Data Retention
We do understand the value of your data, as such we are committed to keep it only during the time we need to fulfil its purpose and according to the legally required periods determined by the EU law. There are multiple points in this policy that represent different needs (i.e. from personal data to non-personal data), leading to different retention periods. Personal data retention periods may go from 2 to 10 years, depending on the purpose but our commitment is to keep it only during the period its serving its purpose. Non-personal data might be kept for longer periods, if and only if, they still fit for statistical purposes. There are some cases, for instances legal disputes, that might force us to keep this data for longer periods, in those cases we will let governing law determine the extension of the retention policy, always abiding to the legislation and judicial orders.
8. Your Rights
You can exercise your rights, listed ahead, by contacting us via support@codelaude.io. We will do our best to answer as fast as possible, but sometimes it's not possible to be as effective as we want, because of that we do impose an internal limit of 1 month (counting from the moment we receive the communication in our mailbox) to answer you. According to EU's governing law (GDPR), and depending on a proven validation of your identity, you have the right of accessing (i.e. if it exists, if it's being processed and the purposes of the same along with all details regarding the same), rectify and/or delete your personal data. You can also restrict the processing of some of your personal data and request its portability. Obviously you can also object to the processing of your data. This information is provided to you free-of-charge unless these requests are unfounded, excessive (particularly if they tend to be repetitive) or if they represent a disproportionate effort. If this is the case, we can refuse your request or charge a fee for it.
9. Cookies
We use Cookies, i.e. small text files kept on your device, that do not contain any kind of malicious software, and that are used to track browsing activities. Most of these cookies are named identified as "session cookies" and are deeply related with individual users. You have many ways (i.e. opting out in our dedicated area, using third-party tools, using your browser, etc.) to reject these cookies and their rejection does not generate any difference in the overall user experience of the website.
10. Applicable Law
This Privacy Policy is governed by Portuguese law, and according to any EU rules that relate to it. Any dispute or conflict is to be handled within Portugal and according to its laws.
